Core Curriculum's Mission Statement
12/07/2005 - Galaxy Holdings Consortium announced it's acquisition of Core Curriculum of America, adding the company as a new subsidiary of it's Curriculum Solutions division.
Galaxy Holdings Consortium, owner of numerous entities in addition to Curriculum Solutions Inc, is best-known for it's sundry of textbook depositories and book distribution facilities in the United States.

Galaxy Holdings representative, Geoff Groton, stated: "We recognize tremendous growth in the homeschool supply and curriculum distribution fields. It was this recognition which subsequently led to our most recent purchase of Core Curriculum of America's assets."
It is rumored that Galaxy is on the verge of completing the purchase of a selection of other companies also involved in the rapidly expanding homeschool market. Mr. Groton is, however, remaining silent with regards to whether Galaxy has completed it's final acquisition leading observers to pontificate as to which homeschooling business we may find under it's ownership in 2006.

Minnesota homeschooler wins second regional spell off
For the second year in a row, sixth grade homeschooler Nathan Cornelius of Cottonwood, placed first at the Regional Spelling Bee held Tuesday at the Redwood Area Community Center.After a brief backtrack, Cornelius correctly spelled the word 'dissimilitude' and took the first-place trophy.
Little sis has way with words, too
PASCAGOULA MISSISSIPPI- "It was two years ago that Jackson County resident and home school student, Joshua Hanssen, spelled his way into the national Spelling Bee in the nation's capitol.Ever since, his little sister, Tori, has been itching to follow his lead. Monday night the sixth-grader earned her way to the state bee in Jackson when she landed 'lackadaisical' on the nose and polished off 'propinquity' in a pinch to become the new Jackson County winner of..."
Arkansas Homeschooler Earns Third Spelling Title
SPRINGDALE- "Through an impressive display of his spelling powers, Levi Foster of Fayetteville earned the name Three-Time Champion of the Washington County Spelling Bee on Saturday. Foster, a homeschool student garnered the title after correctly spelling a relatively obscure word -- "sinistral," meaning "of or relating to the left" -- before a concentrated audience at the Jones Center for Families in Springdale..."
Homeschooled fifth-grader is Minnesota Geographic Bee champ
It was about the fifth round of the Minnesota Geographic Bee finals Friday, with four students left on the stage and questions as obscure as a Balkan country's primary cash crop coming thick and fast, when Nathan Cornelius realized he had a chance.Then it was down to two: Nathan and Adam Kopel.Nathan correctly identified the Cenozoic Era and placed volcanic Mount Etna on the island of Sicily and it was all over. The fifth-grader from Cottonwood was the 2003 state champ.
